Volunteering

An excellent route to paid work

volunteer

Whatever your situation, doing voluntary work, even for just a few hours a week, is really worthwhile. There are loads of benefits and you will make a big difference.

I have always been a keen volunteer and I promote volunteering as an excellent way to fill a gap that might otherwise be empty in your CV, and gain more skills, especially while looking for, or returning to work. Voluntary work could add new skills and experience to your CV.

Many organisations and charities welcome volunteers of all ages, both in the UK and abroad and there are a wide variety of voluntary opportunities available whatever your skills.

How will you benefit from volunteering?

  • Keeps you active and helps boost your self-esteem and confidence.
  • Makes good use of your skills.
  • Learn new skills.
  • Make a difference.
  • An excellent addition to your CV.

For advice on voluntary work, call in to the Uckfield Volunteer Centre. Also open for FREE CV reviews, available EVERY Thursday from 1-4pm. Always advisable to book in advance.
